Virat Kohli’s Arrival in Perth Draws Fan Frenzy Ahead of Australia Test Series

Excitement around star Indian batter Virat Kohli is at a peak as he prepares for the highly anticipated Test series against Australia, set to begin on November 22. Known for his impressive performances on Australian soil, Kohli’s return has attracted fans who are eager to catch him in action. Upon his arrival in Perth, Kohli joined India’s full training session at the WACA on Wednesday. According to The West Australian, fans even climbed trees and brought ladders to catch a glimpse of Kohli as he practiced, showcasing his skills against both pace and spin bowlers.
Public Access and Conflicting Reports
While fans have been allowed to view India’s training sessions from Friday to Sunday, where the team will conduct match simulations and a warm-up game against India A, there was initial confusion regarding public access. An Australian media outlet, The Australian, reported that the practice sessions were closed to the public, quoting an email from Adam Sauzier, CEO of ADCO Constructions, which is managing WACA’s renovations. The memo allegedly instructed construction workers not to watch or photograph the sessions and discouraged drones during practice.
However, sources from the BCCI have refuted these claims, clarifying that no official request for closed sessions was made by India or India A. Instead, the BCCI confirmed that the training sessions remain open to the public, as well as Indian and Australian media, allowing fans and journalists to observe and cover the practices as usual.
With Kohli’s presence adding to the series’ buildup, fans and the media alike are eagerly watching India’s preparations as they look to deliver a strong performance in the Border-Gavaskar series opener at Perth Stadium.
