Karnali Yaks Sign Shikhar Dhawan for Nepal Premier League Debut

Karnali Yaks have added former Indian star Shikhar Dhawan to their roster for the Nepal Premier League’s first season, marking their fourth international signing. With Dhawan joining West Indies’ Chadwick Walton, Pakistan’s Hussain Talat, and Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat, the Yaks strengthen their squad for the upcoming tournament.
Dhawan’s involvement brings added excitement to the NPL, which has already attracted international names like Martin Guptill, James Neesham, and Ben Cutting. The 38-year-old, who retired from international and domestic cricket earlier this year, last played in the IPL as captain of Punjab Kings. Despite stepping back from the national team, Dhawan’s impressive record—highlighted by the fastest Test century on debut and stellar IPL performances—promises to make him a valuable asset for Karnali.
Karnali’s marquee player Sompal Kami and head coach Gyanendra Malla will be leading the team, which includes Gulshan Jha, Nandan Yadav, and Dev Khanal as key ‘A’ category players from the NPL auction.
