In this article I will be talking about two different cricket players: one is Ex-Captain of the India national team and winner of three consecutive Cricket World Cups, the other is an incredible cricketer who has won the ICC Cricketer of The Year Award twice!

I will compare these two greats side by side to determine which player is better. This article will include all similarities and differences between the two players as well as my final verdict.

So let’s dive in!

Kohli vs Babar!

Closing statement – both are irreplaceable

There is no way to replace someone like Dhoni at the top of his game, he set such a standard that it can never be matched again. Same for Kohli!

When Dhoni retired from international cricket there was a big question mark over whether India will retain their status as world champions. But if they do win the next tournament then it will have to be with someone else leading the side.

That person cannot be questioned anymore either, so we need to find another leader to take over where he left off.

They are both equally good

In this era of big money sports, every team needs to have an elite player that people talk about when they discuss their favorite teams and players.

Kohli is the top run scorer for India in Tests and one-day internationals, while Azam has been doing the same thing for Pakistan.

These two men make up the top echelon of cricketing talent at the highest level and it’ll be difficult to choose between them. Both of these cricketers enjoy incredible success not only themselves, but also for the franchises that employ them.

They are both great batsmen

While some consider India’s Kohli to be more talented, there is no denying that either of them possesses elite talent as a player. Both have won multiple trophies at the highest level, and each has had their standout performances in big matches for their teams.

Kohli is arguably the best Test match cricketer right now, having led his country to five consecutive victories in England. He was named the ICC Player of the Year and finished second behind MS Dhoni in our latest rankings of the greatest test captains of all time.

Babar is ranked number one in the world by most statistical metrics such as runs per innings, averages, strike rates and so forth and he did not even make it into the top 10 in our list of the greatest captains because he never achieved victory with his team.

He knows how to motivate his players and gives them clear goals and targets to aim for. As a result, they perform better when needed.

They are both great fielders

While some people consider him to be more of an all-rounder than number one batsman, these differences between his positions come down to personal preference. Both men can be considered as having excellent fielding skills!

Kohli has been described as a “supremely confident” fielder who always puts in the hard work. He loves taking risks and will not hesitate to try something out even if it does not go his way.

He is usually credited with making smart catches and being able to get them off what would otherwise be regarded as difficult balls.

Azam was once described by The Hindu newspaper as possessing “exceptional reflexes for a man of 32 years old” and he makes no secret about how much this helps motivate him.

They are (have been) both great captains

At this stage of their careers, it is hard to pick one over the other. Both have won multiple trophies at the highest level, with each having their own special qualities.

Kohli has always been known as an inspirational leader who wants his team to play its natural game. He sets high standards for himself too, constantly trying to improve his skills and take on new challenges.

Azam, since taking charge of the national side, has made an impact. His tactical nous and ability to develop young players have helped make him successful.

They are very different

While both have done incredible things for their teams in recent years, one is more well-known than the other. This makes it hard to compare which player is better!

Kohli has won three consecutive ICC Player of the Year awards while Azam has only been nominated once. He was also named Cricket’s Most Valuable Player in 2018, his second such award win this decade.

They are both humble

If you look at their achievements as individuals, then it is easy to see who has done more in his field. But if you compare what each of them has contributed to Team India, how they have inspired their teammates, and how well they represent the organization, then it becomes much harder to choose one over the other.

As we all know, cricket is a team game, and nothing will ever get quite so competitive as when there’s only two teams in the competition. When that happens, the whole team works together towards a common goal, and whoever is better individually usually doesn’t matter too much.

But for those outside the system, it can be difficult to appreciate this concept. To someone who hasn’t seen “the great Indian side fail to win a Test match away from home until 2011-12,” it might seem like Team India just doesn’t want to play not want to lose.

Since winning the World Cup back in 2007, however, things have been very different, and even though most people agree that Team India is now among the best in the world, many still wonder whether they are truly competing with the top sides.

They are both charismatic

Being charismatic is one of the most important things to be as a sports player. It has been proven that athletes who are popular with their fan base win more.

Kohli and Azam have both shown they enjoy being in the spotlight and interacting with people. Both play entertaining cricket that fans love to watch!

Azam is famous for his flashy batting style and powerful shots while Kohli is known for his presence on the field and also his leadership qualities.

They are also successful at drawing attention towards themselves by doing something spectacular or funny.
