The West Indies have brought back left-arm pacer Obed McCoy for the final two T20Is against England. McCoy replaces Matthew Forde, who suffered a thigh strain during training ahead of the third match. Forde was initially included as cover for Alzarri Joseph, who had been suspended earlier in the series.

Forde made his T20I debut in the second game in Barbados but was replaced in the XI by Joseph for the third match in St. Lucia. Unfortunately, Forde’s injury has ended his participation in the series prematurely.

McCoy’s return comes as a boost for the West Indies. A seasoned T20 bowler, McCoy was unavailable for the start of the series due to an injury sustained during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He last played for the West Indies during their home series against South Africa in August and will now aim to strengthen the team’s bowling attack in the final games.

England, meanwhile, have already secured a historic series victory, their first in the Caribbean in any format since 2019. The visitors clinched the third T20I at the Daren Sammy Stadium in St. Lucia, taking an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

With the remaining matches also set to be played at the Daren Sammy Stadium over the weekend, the West Indies will hope McCoy’s inclusion can provide the spark needed to bounce back and salvage some pride in the series. Fans will be watching closely to see if the home side can end the series on a positive note.
